Upon arrival at New Delhi International Airport, our representative will be waiting outside the terminal to assist with your transfer to the hotel.

Check-in follows, adhering to the standard check-in time of 2:00 PM and check-out at 12:00 PM.

Bishnoi and Opium: Despite opium being illegal in India and against the 29 principles of the Bishnoi community, the sect has been granted special permission by the Indian government to use it for “religious” reasons.

Pushkar is a city located on the edge of the Thar Desert in the northeastern state of Rajasthan. The city sits on Pushkar Lake, an important Hindu holy site with 52 ghats (stone steps) where pilgrims take a dip to purify themselves. Pushkar is famous for its many temples, including the 14th-century Jagatpita Brahma Mandir, dedicated to Brahma, the god of creation. This temple is characterized by a red spire and walls engraved with silver coins of pilgrims.

The 14th-century Brahma Temple:  was built by the sage Vishwamitra after a ritual of Brahma. It is believed that Brahma himself chose this location for his temple.

Pushkar Lake : is a sacred lake for Hindus, described in Hindu scriptures as “Tirtha-Guru” – the master of pilgrimage sites related to a body of water. It is associated with the mythology of Brahma, whose most important temple is located in Pushkar.

Gaitore ki Chhatriyan: Located just outside Jaipur, Gaitore ki Chhatriyan is the crematorium of the Rajput dynasty of Kachwahas. After breakfast, depart for Agra.

En route, visit Abhaneri and Fatehpur Sikri.

Abhaneri: En route, visit Abhaneri, famous for its ‘baori’, wells dug to collect rainwater. These wells, depending on the season, are used as places of refreshment or as water reservoirs. Chand Baori is the most famous in the region, one of the deepest and largest in India, with 3,500 narrow steps on 13 levels that descend to a depth of 30 meters. This impressive well is located in front of the Harshat Mata temple, and it is now a ritual to wash your hands and feet in the well before visiting the adjacent temple.

Fatehpur Sikri: Built by the Mughal emperor Akbar in the mid-16th century, Fatehpur Sikri, meaning “City of Victory,” was the capital of his empire for 15 years. This complex, built in red sandstone in Indo-Islamic style, is full of palaces, mosques, temples and other structures.

After breakfast, the day begins with a visit to Taj mahal.

Taj Mahal: This wonder of the world is a must-see in India. Taj Mahal represents the eternal love of Emperor Shah Jahan for his wife Mumtaz Mahal. Completed in 1653 AD, this magnificent monument was built by Shah Jahan as a mausoleum for his beloved queen.

Agra Fort: Situated on the banks of the Yamuna River, the crescent-shaped Agra Fort was commissioned by Akbar, one of the greatest Mughal emperors, in 1565. Surrounded by imposing walls, the complex houses numerous palaces, gardens and historic halls.

Itimad-ud-Daula: Built by Nur Jahan in honour of his father, Ghias-ud-Din Beg, who was given the title of ‘Itimad-ud-Daula’ (Pillar of Government), it is the first mausoleum made of white marble rather than red sandstone. This marks a shift in Mughal architecture from red sandstone to white marble.

Mehtab Bagh: This enchanting garden is located on the western bank of the Yamuna River, perfectly aligned with the gardens of the Taj Mahal on the other bank. Spread over 300 square metres, Mehtab Bagh has been the subject of several interesting excavations. It is believed to be the last of a series of 11 gardens created by the Mughal emperor Babur. Today, it offers a splendid view of the Taj Mahal and is an excellent vantage point and photography spot. The view from the entrance gate is particularly spectacular and not to be missed.
